About the Artist

Daniel Pluta is a realist artist.

He apprenticed in the studio of the master painter, Paul Ingbretson, between 2019 and 2021. He continued to apprentice with Henry Wingate from 2022 until the present. He additionally graduated from the University of Virginia in 2016.

He paints in oil directly, as other professional artists have done in the past, in order to capture the visual impression of light and color. His artistic influences include Joseph DeCamp, Velázquez, and John Singer Sargent. Additionally, as a draftsman, instructed in a lineage that includes artists such as Jean-Léon Gérôme, he enjoys drawing in charcoal. Whether painting or drawing for hours when younger, he has always seen himself as an artist, and has been seen by others as an artist. He is grateful for the instruction of many teachers of the artistic craft over the past years. He understands the seriousness of the artistic profession, and is grateful that he can depict Beauty, whether through the color, the mystery, or the forms visible to the eye.
